The 2-0 Terps are back home!

The Maryland Terrapins are back home for a big game against SMU. With a 2-0 record entering the game, these non-conference games are the warm-up to the tougher schedule. SMU will be the Terps toughest opponent so far in the season.

This is the first game between these two teams since 1962. The Terps are 2-0 in head-to-head games leading into this one. All of their scouting is most likely what they have seen on tape.

Last week, the Terps dominated the Charlotte 49ers on the road by a score of 56-21. QB Taulia Tagovailoa had one of his best games for the Terrapins as he passed for four TDs and 391 yards on 31 attempts with a rushing TD that forced him to come out of the game with a cramp in his leg.

The formula for the Terps are less penalties and more sustained drives. Keep the pressure on the opposing quarterback and force mistakes. The Terps will be without cornerback Tarheen Still who had surgery to repair a tendon in his finger The team gets back sophomore cornerback Corey Coley Jr.

Maryland and SMU are scheduled to kick off at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m on FS1. Of note, the field will be renamed on October 1 to SECU Field.
