The 1-0 Terps have a road game in Charlotte

With an Opening Day win for the Maryland Terrapins, they could see themselves for the good and bad from this past Saturday and see where they must improve. With no true warm-up games, the early non-conference schedule proves vital to get this team ready for the tough Big Ten schedule ahead. Today’s non-conference game takes the young Terps on the road to Charlotte, North Carolina to face the Charlotte 49ers.

We hope to see some better timing from quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa in the passing game in this one. You could see that while Tagovailoa was good, he missed several key passes and threw an interception in a forced throw. Running back Roman Hemby had a huge game as he rushed for two TDs and 114 yards on just seven carries.

The Terps defense has to keep up the intensity like we saw last week with the four sacks that were recorded and pressure on the quarterback along with controlling the line of scrimmage. Again, it will be a key to see the adjustments from last week’s game and staying healthy.

Today’s kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Jerry Richardson Stadium in Charlotte and can be streamed on STADIUM or FuboTV.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Maryland is a 27-point favorite and -5000 on the moneyline. The over/under is 65.5 total points.
