The Maryland Terrapins are on the road for their first Big-10 game of the season. The 3-0 Terps have no easy task today facing one of the nation’s best teams in the No. 4 ranked Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor. Not only is Michigan the top scoring team in the Big-10 at 55.3 points per game but they are also second in rushing at 231.3 yards per game. Maryland ranks fifth in the conference in scoring at 40.3 points per game and fourth in passing at 310 yards per game.
The Maryland Terrapins are back home for a big game against SMU. With a 2-0 record entering the game, these non-conference games are the warm-up to the tougher schedule. SMU will be the Terps toughest opponent so far in the season.
With an Opening Day win for the Maryland Terrapins, they could see themselves for the good and bad from this past Saturday and see where they must improve. With no true warm-up games, the early non-conference schedule proves vital to get this team ready for the tough Big Ten schedule ahead. Today’s non-conference game takes the young Terps on the road to Charlotte, North Carolina to face the Charlotte 49ers.
The long awaited 2022 season begins for the Maryland Terrapins. After several star players departed through the draft, graduation and the transfer portal, it’s time to see what this roster can do.

The Maryland Terrapins have the regional finals tonight against Connecticut in this double elimination tournament. The winner goes on to the super regionals and the winner of that goes to Omaha for the College World Series.
The No. 1 Maryland Terrapins proved that they are the best, completing a perfect season 18-0 season, winning the 2022 National Championship with a 9-7 victory over No. 7 Cornell.
Maryland has set an NCAA record for the most wins in a season and has become the first undefeated team with since Virginia in 2006.
This is Maryland’s fourth NCAA title previously winning in 1973, 1975, and 2017 and the 13th overall appearance in the men’s lacrosse national championship.

The Terps had a slow offensive start to the game as Cornell dominated the beginning half of the first quarter. Cornell scored the first goal of the game with 7:28 left in the quarter.
Maryland tied up the game as Jack Brennan put one in the net with 5:47 left in the first quarter.
Fifth-year Anthony Demaio came out on fire, recording a hat trick in the span of 2:09 putting the Terps at 4-1 at the end of the first.
In the second quarter, graduate student Owen Prybylski scored his first goal of the season to give the Terps a 5-1 lead.
Cornell clapped back with a goal at 11:49 followed by DeMaio’s fourth goal of the game and a goal from fifth-year Logan Wisnauskas, making putting the Terps up 7-2 at the half.
Wisnauskas opened up the scoring in the second half at two minutes. A minute later, Jonathan Donville scored the last goal for the Terps against his previous school for the last goal of the game.
Between the second and third quarters, Maryland held Cornell scoreless for 22:15 before Cornell put one in with 4:34 left in the third.
In the fourth quarter, Cornell tightened the gap to 2, scoring four goals in the last quarter, concluding the game with a score of 9-7 Maryland.
Cornell held Maryland to its lowest-scoring game of the season, however, the Terps’ unselfishness showed as they only put up 9 goals against the Big Red.

The Terps were scoreless for the remaining 27 minutes of regulation, but the strong defense held the Big Red and made Maryland victorious. Wisnauskas continued his legacy as a Terp in his final game putting up four points on two goals and two assists. He became the first Terp to ever record 100 points in a single season.
Junior goalie Logan McManey made 17 saves for the Terps and was named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
The No. 1 Maryland Terrapins capitalized against the No. 5 Princeton Tigers 13-8 leading the Terps to victory in the NCAA semifinal game in Hartford, Connecticut.
Storms in the area created a 4-hour weather delay due to rain did not stop the number one team in the nation from getting the job done.
The Eagles set the tone early scoring in the first seven minutes. Sophomore Libby May answers quickly, to tie the game at one. Both teams traded another goal in the first quarter with another goal by May advancing the score to 2-2 at the end of the first.
Midway through the second, the Eagles took the lead scoring back-to-back goals, but the Terps clapped back adding 4 points to the board taking the 7-6 lead going into the half.
Sophomore Eloise Clevenger scored a backhand scoop to finish the four-goal run that put the Terps on top at the end of the second.
Graduate student Aurora Cordingley scored her-team best 67th goal of the season early into the second half for the Terps.

Both teams exchanged eight goals in the third with a score of 11-10 for Maryland at the end of the quarter.
Early in the fourth, junior Hannah Leubecker and Clevenger advanced the lead to 13-10.
The Terps took the 16-13 lead with seven minutes left. But the Eagles weren’t finished, putting up three consecutive goals with just over three minutes left tying the game 16-16.
With 18 seconds remaining, Cassidy Weeks scored the game-winner for Boston College advancing the Eagles to the National Championship.
The Terps’ season concludes at 19-2, earning both the Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
With no MLB baseball games in Spring Training coming for another week, D.C. area baseball fans will be treated to some exciting weekend baseball with a game at 4pm today and again on Sunday between the nationally ranked Maryland Terrapins and the Georgetown Hoyas. More on that below.

Today at College Park, fans and the current student body will be celebrating a reunion of Gary Williams’ championship team with Juan Dixon, Steve Blake, Chris Wilcox, Lonny Baxter, Tahj Holden, Drew Nicholas, and others.
