The Maryland Terrapins are home for their second game of the season and hope to improve to 2-0 as they take on the Charlotte 49ers of the AAC. The Terps continue their tune-up to get ready for their B1G-10 schedule.
Head Coach Mike Locksley made it clear this offseason that he was looking to be one of the best football teams in the nation and believes he has that with quarterback Taulia Tagavailoa who just wants to win. He could be a Heisman finalist this year if he has some great connections with his receivers this year. Why not shoot as high as you can. Keep an eye on Octavian Smith Jr. as he seemed to be a favorite target last week on pass plays.
The Terps have to continue to get their talented RB Roman Hemby, the ball and establish a running game and work in their big back Antwain Littleton II, who will continue to get his share of plays in the running game.
The Terps defense has to force turnovers and created more sacks, something they struggled with last week against Towson.
This will be the Charlotte 49ers second time in as many years that these teams will face off against each other, after the Terps dominated Charlotte, 56-21, in the first matchup last season.
