This has been an up-and-down season with highs like the walk-off win against USC followed by a letdown loss in Minnesota. The Maryland Club in the Xfinity Center at the University of Maryland is open!

The Maryland Club has opened at the Xfinity Center in College Park.  It is a contemporary private social club, like a country club with basketball. The club overlooks the arena floor where the University of Maryland basketball teams play their games.

The sophisticated space, bespoke with art and Terps’ memorabilia, and decorating that has hints of the Maryland flag, history, and terrapin turtles — are subtle, yet clever. The designers had purpose to every detail from the wallpaper to the carpet to room dividers. There is a high-end bar stocked with top-shelf liquors and wine, a dining room with gourmet food, lounges, and private rooms for members to work, dine, or unwind. Last night, you could watch the Opening Night of the Maryland men’s basketball season as freshman Derik Queen debuted, making history, in a huge Terps’ win.

Game #8 Maryland looks for their North Stars

The Maryland Terrapins pulled off their best comeback win in years. Can they take that win as some momentum against Minnesota today? Maryland is at 4-3 and in need of another win today on the road.

With Billy Edwards Jr. at QB1 for the Terps, he had to gain a lot of confidence after leading his team to victory after trailing by 14 points in the 4th quarter last week. Tai Felton has taken on double teams for much of the season, and that has allowed receivers like Octavian Smith Jr. and Kaden Prather to get some one-on-one coverage and make some big plays.

Game #7 Homecoming with USC in College Park, MD

The Maryland Terrapins have fallen into their worst stretch in years, and find themselves at 3-3 in the middle of their season. This is a must win game for Maryland in their annual Homecoming game at SECU Stadium in College Park. This will be Maryland’s 102nd Homecoming game. The Terps have an all-time record of 61-36-4 in homecoming games (60.3 winning percentage). In town as their opponent is one of the newest Big-10 teams from the west coast in the USC Trojans. USC will be the 32nd different opponent Maryland will welcome on homecoming.

The Terps have won three of their past four and six of their last eight homecoming games, with wins against Purdue (2016), Indiana (2017 & 2021), Rutgers (2018), Minnesota (2020), and Northwestern (2022) in that span.

USC travels its furthest distance this season, and traveled across the country to just outside of our nation’s capital to play Maryland for the first time ever in the history of these programs. USC also enters this game with a 3-3 record.

With Billy Edwards Jr. at QB1 for the Terps, he must figure out a way to lead his team to victory. Tai Felton was the star in the Terps three wins, and he must turn big plays to keep drives moving and convert them into touchdowns. That all makes sense, but clearly the team is made up of dozens of other players who must step up.
