Game #3 Terps have Alcorn at Xfinity

The Maryland Terrapins have their third game of the season, and are back at the XFINITY Center in College Park, Maryland. This time they have Alcorn State in for a Veteran’s Day game on this Tuesday night game on the Terps home court.

Maryland is 3-0 all-time against the Braves including last season’s 96-58 win. In the three previous meetings, Maryland is averaging 103.7 points per game. The two teams first met on Dec. 30, 1989 at Cole Field House – a 110-91 win for the Terps. The 91 points were the most for Alcorn to score in the three games.

The game will tip off at 7 PM and will be streamed on B1G+. Following tonight’s game, the Terps will then take off for Milwaukee to face Marquette on Saturday, Nov. 15 (2 PM).

On April 2, 2025, Buzz Williams was named head coach at Maryland after re-building Texas A&M into a program that reached three consecutive NCAA Tournaments. For his career, he is seeking to become one of just three NCAA Division I head coaches to post 100 career wins at four different institutions joining Maryland Hall of Fame Coach Lefty Driesell (Davidson, Maryland, James Madison, Georgia State) and Steve Alford (Iowa, New Mexico, UCLA, Nevada).

A few of the names might sound familiar for those who followed college basketball last year as well as the prep recruiting. Terps royalty resides in the bloodlines as Steve Blake’s eldest son, Nick Blake, is part of this incoming freshman class on the 2025-2026 Maryland Terrapins.

The Terps are coming off an 83-61 win over Coppin State in their opener and a bad loss to Georgetown over the weekend to put the Terps at 1-1 on the season.
